Progesterone levels in the extracts were then measured using goose progesterone ELISA kit (Shanghai Huding Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China) according to the manufacturer’s instruction, ａnd total progesterone levels in each follicle were calculated as [(the total levels of progesterone in the extract ÷ the weight of yolk subjected to extraction) × the total weight of yolk isolated from this follicle] ａnd were expressed as pmol/follicle. Levels of progesterone in culture media were also measured using goose progesterone ELISA kit (Shanghai Huding Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China). Serial dilutions of media samples showed good linearity (differed by 15 % or less) in the calculated concentrations of progesterone, ａnd the detection limit of progesterone is 7 pmol/L.
